April 30, Friday, Day 51

We spent the day at Colonial Williamsburg. We learned that it was the second capitol of Virginia and 88 of the 300 buildings are original. We began by touring the George Wythe house, left. He was a friend of George Washington, who did stay in the house.

This shot is inside the George Wythe house. Williamsburg is different from other museums in that you can take pictures, touch and experience. It's refreshing!

Grant was allowed to play the harpsichord in the cabinet makers shop. We have seen them in other museum houses but they are behind the ropes and you definitely can't touch them. So, this was a neat experience.

This photo is of the courthouse. I liked the shot of the carriage going by.

They even allow you to photograph colonial kids on the street!!!

A highlight of Williamsburg was the governor's mansion, lived in by Lord Dunmore, then American Virginia governors Patrick Henry and Thomas Jefferson.

We also enjoyed the scrumciously moist apple cake at the bake shop. We had to buy a second piece. I had to apologize to Greg for not buying him any, but I didn't think it would last until his return Sunday.
